Uganda Cranes hope to finish with South Sudan at Lugogo

Uganda Cranes hope to finish their job against South Sudan when they host the neighbours in the second round return leg of the Africa Nations Championships at Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Saturday.

Despite several attempts at goal, the Cranes could only manage a goalless draw in Juba on Friday.

Team captain Geoffrey Serunkuma missed a penalty awarded to Uganda after South Sudanese goalkeeper Daniel Khemis kicked Milton Kariisa in the chest.

The winner on aggregate over the two legs will play either Tanzania or Rwanda for a slot at the CHAN tournament in Kenya January, 2018.

The biannual CHAN finals will be held in Kasarani, Nairobi, Kisumu and Mombasa in Kenya in January, 2018.

Other than the hosts, no other country has qualified for the final yet.
